Hello.....
My name is Elizabeth Pollnow, and I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker. A large majority of my clinical focus has been on pediatric mental health, parenting, and families. Although, I do enjoy working with individuals of all ages. My experience also includes trauma, conflict resolution, behavioral support, grief and loss, depression, anxiety, mood disorders, parent-child relationships, and attachment. I recently obtained certification as a mental health nutrition specialist and continue to study the correlation between nutrition and mental health.
I appreciate the process of therapy and the therapeutic connection that is created. I understand the effects of trauma and attachment patterns and find early intervention to be essential. I am excited about the new research linking nutrition and mental health and am hopeful this will provide a helpful set of tools for my clients.
I believe that change comes from within. I also believe that by shifting your perspective, you can often change your circumstance. Having a positive attitude, a healthy thought process and a solid set of coping skills, will help you overcome many things in life.
Therapeutic approaches used can include Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, Parent-Child Interaction Therapy, Trauma-Focused CBT, EMDR, and Mental Health Nutrition modalities.
